Looking to upgrade laptop memory

Thread Starter

So my laptop has a Core 2 Duo T9600 2.8 GHz and 4GB DDR2 800MHz memory right now. I'm actually having trouble finding information on what types of memory are supported in this system. It's Centrino 2 platform, and it seems that it supports some DDR3 RAM, at least Wikipedia says so:

Quote:
RAM support for PC2-5300 (DDR2-667), PC2-6400 (DDR2-800), PC3-6400 (DDR3-800), PC3-8500 (DDR3-1066) SO-DIMM. (GL40 does not support DDR3-1066)

But I would feel better getting confirmation on that, and also any recommendations of 8GB kits for this would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Try going to this site and use the memory scanner tool.

Crucial

I use the Crucial memory scanner like mentioned by d-block and then look for that sku on Amazon. It's usually cheaper by 10-15.
