I have no issue what so ever in folding smp in X6/2500k since my folder will use a X6 for thew competition and continue folding -bigadv on his 2500k. I oppose banning -bigadv in the i7 category until there are no more 12 core units available.

I'm not in favour of waiting until the P6903/6904s are dead and buried - at some stage, there'll be very few left, and it'll be more luck than anything else that would have a deciding say in the category.

I am dead set on banning it in X6/2500k. That category is way too out of hand from top to bottom.

Erick, we know you are too tongue.gif

I am so darn mixed on i7-1 because there is no one incappable of folding them, and there is no end in site just yet. As soon as this becomes problematic, it will be banned asap.

I just do see why are we putting and end to it when clearly there is no problem getting 12 core wu's or any announcements from Panda that they are going away this summer. Im I missing something here?

Yeah zodac, what are we missing here? The only thing I can come up with is potentially having 1 unfair month tops at some future, undertermined point.

The issue is if we decide to leave in -hugeadv for the forseeable future, we have to take those PPDs into account with the i7 restructuring. If we agree to end them by July - regardless of whether PG stop them or not - then we could use SMP values. But the counter-argument seems to be that while they're around, we should allow them.

I get it now. So far, i7-1 seems to be only 2600k and possibly 3770k if the other proposed changes go the way I would like and how others expressed they feel.

I have to say (and I'm suprised I'm the only one arguing this way) but why are we banning the -bigadv for the X6/2500k class in June, why not wait till July and make one sweeping change? The whole point of TC (as I understood and zodac has stated in other threads) is to make people push their machines. There is very little luck involved in the -bigadv market, it's all about getting your rig set up right. My 2500k has not had a non-bigadv WU in 6+ months, I've been getting them steady on both my 2500k and my 2700k, I don't see any shortage?

I say, if you are going to wait until July to ban bigadv for the i7-1 slot, we wait until July for the 2500k folders as well. Let us put up as many points as possible for the OCN before you go to limiting the TC.

I guess what I'm saying is I will agree with doing away with bigadv for all if we wait until July to do it, otherwise, I might have to find a sub for myself for June and then I'll come back in July, I just can't see giving up 30k PPD (going from the 60k PPD I've been getting down to 30k PPD) for a whole month for no good reason.
