yup exactly what these guys are saying ^^ biggrin.gif

80's high, I would definitely try to re-seat and put some new thermal paste on there, just like ^^that picture. seriously like literally the size of a grain of rice for the two lines. and make sure it is nice and tight, it will do the spreading work for you when you tighten it down.

Okay i am going, to re apply my thermal paste, on my CPU should i whipe off the paste that is on there already? or keep it applied, also do i put any thermal paste on the CPU before i put the heatsink back on.

Thank's in advance.

yes definitely wipe it off the cpu and the heat sink. some others might say to use some cleaning stuff, but honestly I just use a paper towel (carefully).

but be careful to not get any finger prints on the bottom of the heat sink or on the processor and if you use some type of cloth, make sure its static free and doesn't leave any type of fuzz.

all of this can potentially affect heat transfer.

I will use a anti static wristband and a paper towl, do i apply the thermal paste next to the copper or whatever it is on the heatsink just like in this picture 450

& on the CPU? or only the heatsink

for that particular heat sink, yes only on the heat sink just like in the picture and only tiny amounts (grain of rice for both lines)

side note:
for heat sinks with out the copper pipes running through, I think its easier to apply on the cpu, but thats besides the point, just something to keep in your mind.

well I used to have an H50 with my amd set up but when I got my Z77 and 3570k, I actually grabbed one of these guys:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835709002

I love it its dead silent (I hear my case fans over these fans) and being clocked at 4.4ghz, I only hit around the low 70c on all of the cores when prime95-ing. It usually games in the 50's thumb.gif

That is nice i don't know if i want to upgrade my heat sink or not, why does intel run hotter then AMD?

Well itleast you are honest about it, not a huge problem just something i wondered.
As stated earlier intel can take the heat.
