Nice mod.
I'd like to do this to an Asus A42J as well... Wondering if I could get some information here beforehand. The CMO 14" LED in it is greenish and terribad.

You should probably try to adjust it via the graphics card settings then smile.gif

Mainly because there's no OSD on the screen tongue.gif

Hey Artik! biggrin.gif

Yep, I did that, but there's no way to get the perfect colours if the panel just sucks. Lowered the gamma by a bit since the entire screen looks like its been whitewashed, as well as lowered the greens.

I completely dismantled it last week and cleaned it out with the compressor and it will still reach 70°C+ core temp, the highest I have ever seen the core temperature was 92°C

A guy that used to be my friend has one of those HP TX2 tablet/laptop's. It was decent, it's just a AMD Athlon x2 @ 2.3GHz. It's in a tiny little casing, and because of this the fan is so small.. Such a terrible idea, seeing as an Athlon wasn't the top of the line CPU it still ran rather hot. Basically after cleaning it out for the second year of having it, we had a competition. We bought three chocolate frogs.. Then ran IBT on three of our laptops to see whose melted it first.

My N61JQ (i7 720QM) only made the frog warm, and was still edible.
The DV6 Core 2 Duo @ 2.53GHz melted it a little more than my N61 and was still edible..
The HP TX2.. Well there was no chocolate left at all.

Fair to say it used to throttle all the time, and he'd constantly have problems with that along with windows shutting down as it hit 105c AFTER disabling thermal safety with hacks.

This is one of the main reasons why i'll never buy HP, they use the same layout on each laptop design. Which is good for some configurations, but terrible for others (as we saw with the DV6 vs TX2).

You get that with ASUS screens, well their laptop ones anyway. My N61JQ was always a bit blue and washy, so I'd have to set the blue to -7ish to correct it. It was nice that AMD included this in their drivers however. smile.gif

Is 1366 x 786 that bad? because i've had 2 laptops with these specs though one of them was somehow HD with these pixels...i didn't really notice anything which i can call "bad quality" or "pixelated" so what's the deal?

I've been in several dozen laptops, and hp, dell, asus, e machine, toshiba....they all have the same basic cooling.

I havent been in too many new laptop's, because people usually never have problems with those excpet maybe DC Jacks

HP, like every other Laptop with dedicated graphics...has the same layout. But mines is slightly different...here is a plate over the CPU and a Place over the GPU.....and there is 2 pipes leading to the top of the laptop for the GPU and a pipe leading to the left side for the CPU. my temps are okay....GPU gets at 81 Max at 90+ percent usage...I think the max is like 100....soo, yeah the cooling is adequate. Why did the DV6000's go out so much? It wasn't the layout of the heatsink.....maybe, but it was probably the leadless solder they were using...which everyone is using now...but back then the quality probably wasn't that good.

1366 x 786 is fine, it's just that 1080p is better too put it simply. Movies look slightly better, but Pictures Look WAAAAY Better, being you would need a side to side comparison of a movie to see the difference, but Pictures are clearly more resolute.

Also, with 1080p it is easier to see more things on your screen....but with certain laptops, you can just pinch the touchpad and it will zooom out.
