I just installed a new Samsung 830 SSD. But it's a sata 3 drive on my old board which is only sata 2, so I'm not getting the best out of it nor do I think this old motherboard is helping much either. I'm happy with the boot time compared to the minute and a half I used to get on my old HDD and OS installation, but before I started loading stuff onto the SSD I was getting 28 seconds. Someone in this thread mentioned how a bios update reduced their boot time considerably. I might have to try that! smile.gif

Yep, new bios did make a big difference to all my benches. And it's shaved off 8 seconds restart time to 28 secs.

Thread Starter
Hey all! Sorry I have been absent for such a long while... Have no fears tho, I AM BACK!

I have updated the leader board to accurately reflect current participating members "Reboot-Clocker" restart times! (Phillychuck, Schmuckley, sena, Roman5, kx11)
And congrats to FtW 420! (14 sec.) Not a single challenger has been able to knock you off in over 8 months! thumb.gif

-Just a reminder to all that want to be apart of this threads "Leader Board" and have your restart time counted, you have to...
a. Have a computer w/ a HDD or SSD (lol)
b. Download & Run my "Reboot-Clocker"
c. Submit a screenshot (after reboot) with your OCN user name (notepad) & the Reboot-Clocker window displaying your time (clearly & visibly).
d. And have fun!

A big thank you to everyone who's downloaded and enjoyed my benchmark, and for participating in this thread and leader board (especially during my AWOL time). Now get reeboot-clockin`!

This should go rather fast on Windows 8 with a SSD and no password to get to desktop. My windows 8, even with the massive delay at post, is fully booted and ready to go in like 13 seconds.

LOL, well I have 5 but two are 128's in RAID 0 on this system I am typing on. The other 3 are just for benching. Can't get W8 to load, some file corrupt.

Raid might slow things down, depends how it loads up, I haven't run raid in a while but the boards I was using it on took extra seconds in the bios.
