OK well i put 2 120mm fans on the top blowing upwoard hoping to get some heat out of it if it keeps it cool enough can i go past 75Hertz.
It allows me to go up to 150hertz.
Oh forgot to mention i have a 500watt psu powering the two. the psu is powering nothing else.

I didn't know that computer PSUs could power monitors.
He meant the PSU is powering the fans, not the monitor.

so does anyone know how far I can bump up the Hertz.
The more hertz the less headache.

k, 2 things.

I've got 4 monitor's, all have their own picky perception of what a good gaming hertz rating is, don't know why, but one hates it when I go 1280x1024 for a bit, then thinks 75 hertz is evil for a few weeks, then it likes me again...

1. Want to test it? Go for it! Love to hear the results, (this reminds me of asking if I can overclock my x-fi card because it had a bloomin heatsink, hehe).

2. If your not sure, don't try it, BUT remember, Windows display properties, when you "attempt" a higher setting, normally it isn't the heat developed, (my thoughts, no fact or confirmed, just experience), I think it's just what the monitor is capeable of.

If your gonna try, click apply, let it take it's little 15 second "count down", if it goes all screwy on you, of course, it hates it, HOWEVER, if it doesn't, "for now" success!!!

NOTE!!!

If you boot up, and your screen is black...

Or it says... "Out of range" or similar, Just reboot, go into SAFE MODE if you remember the proper button (f8, f10, f12 for the boot menu) then you should be fine to "re choose" a safer setting.

Also before you officially try this, get the MOST RECENT DRIVERS for the monitor. (Usually helps ) Then if you want to set a higher setting, usually it'll tell ya the maximum, and btw, I adore 21"'s alot, however i've got 4x 17's so i'm happy.

Hope this helps mate! Cheers
