Thread Starter
Well im going to be building a computer for a friend. and he doesn't want to spend more than $800.. He wants it to be a decent gaming rig, and it has to have an intel processor.
Please suggest some parts for the rig

Here's a rig I just threw together for someone else that has the same wants as you.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($189.99 @ Microcenter)
15% better then the 2500k and has some great deals going on for it

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus 76.8 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($19.99 @ Newegg)
Best price performance cooler under $50

Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Pro4 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($69.99 if purchased with the i5 3570K processor @ Microcenter)
Good OCing and reliable mobo that's really cheap with this deal

Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($46.99 @ Newegg)
Reliable and 1600MHz speed 8gb of ram. Look pretty awsome too coolsmiley03.png .

Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda ES 750GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($68.00 @ Newegg)
Cheap 7200RPM 750gb hdd.

Video Card: XFX Radeon HD 6950 2GB Video Card ($207.55 @ Newegg)
6950 with great dual fan cooler

Case: NZXT Gamma Classic (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($34.00 @ Newegg)
This case has good airflow like you wanted and has some great little features, hdd mounts and how easy it is so slide on the side panels, that you mostly see on the higher end cases

Power Supply: OCZ 700W ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($44.99 @ NCIX US)
80+ plus modular 700w PSU whose OEM is Sirtec who makes the Rosewill Hive series and a lot of others.

Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer ($17.99 @ Newegg)
Great and cheap DVD/CD driver/writer which will be fine for you unless you want Blueray

Monitor: Planar PL2210W 22.0" Monitor ($117.59 @ Mac Connection)
22" 1080p monitor

Total: $817.08
$17 over but it's worth it for the gpu
