Cosmic White Modding/Painting/PowderCoating Lian Li Lancool First Knight Chassis

Hello everyone here at OCN, I have been admiring a lot of users case mods, I have to say I am very impressed at a lot of craftmanship, blood, sweat, time, and $$$ spent on peoples rigs to get them looking really nice & pretty for their standards. I joined this forum to see what I can learn from what others have been putting on their rigs and I hav picked up some ideas on the way for what I would like to do on my case, and I am not going to do anything super fancy, just make it look "CLEAN" to my liking and show off to friends of how much I admire computers, and what better way to show them by making this build log and submitting a bunch of pictures smile.gif This is my first time mod a case, so I have put in some thought of what I really want done, I am going for a simple paint job, more like... powder coating the whole chassis and some painted trim pieces, removing a part here and there, putting on a window, and switching out blue led's for pink led's (doing pink led's because I haven't seen it done yet) also because it will give it a nice contrast, i hope smile.gif So now that, that is out of the way lemme post some pics....

here it is completely disassembled, I did not take any pictures of it when I was sanding it, but luckily 2 days after... I decided to take it to the powder coating shop, which I had called and given me an estimate over the phone, and sounded really reasonable with the charges of paint/labor. I head out to the powder coating shop, and I show them the case, all disassembled, and the lady panicked, and told me what was that and i told her it was the chassis all disassembled, i had to point out to her what piece was what, etc. Other than that she had taken a real good look at it, and given me a more proper estimate and time frame for the project completion, they will be sanding it/ sandblasting the case and also painting it a crystal/flakes/glitter type of white and I was going to get plain white, but then she showed me the Cosmic White sample, I just had to get it, it looked soooo "pretty" in the sun, that I just changed my mind right there and then, thats why I chose that topic title, Cosmic White smile.gif if any cares to ask, the powder coating service/ prep work together is running me at $50, not bad right? She gave me a low price because she told me if I was gonna need it asap and I told her no, so she told me like in a week I'm going to get a phone call so I can go pick them up smile.gif so until next week guys, I will be posting pics of the pieces powder coated, until then feel free to comment or throw suggestions on what I should do to the case,
Note: Not going to be having this case watercooled or anything suuper fancy because I am in a budget, and I would like to see what I can build/make with limited funds for this cool/fun project of mine, I already hav a system that is more than good for my needs and I will b throwing it in the case when completed, will want some advice once I hav it all assembled and ready to go, so again, lemme know what you peeps hav in mind ^_^

I will be wanting to sleeve my power supply so looking for some great tips there too smile.gif I will post my components/hardware later on today, until then, keep modding smile.gif

WOW!! It has been too long since i made a post frown.gif very sorry fellas, just havent bothered to put all my stuff together neatly organized and wat not, but this will not b my last posting, as I want to keep making changes to this PC so this thread may go dead for a while, but brought back to life later in the future, other than that here r the pics u guys want to see.....

1. here is the SSD i purchased, im very very very happy with the performance of this bad boy, u guys are right, my windows logo doesnt even load up all the way cuz this bad boy is really fast smile.gif sooo very impressed with the SSD, considering in buying another one in the future. ^_^ FYI: this is the Kingston HyperX 3K SSD 90GB (6gb/s) =]

2. This pic is somewat of a fail, because when i got the SSD i was planning on installing OS on it the same day to test it out, but i waited and used it as a HDD spacer, lmao. I just threw it there because i had not opened it yet, so thats how my pc was sitting for a couple of days after i was waiting for my case from powder coater....
450

3. Here i received the case, and i started assembling it, as you can c, i am making a shroud for the PSU using fiberglass, didnt think of sheetmetal until the last minute, mayb i didnt want to get it cuz of the lack of materials???? either way, i really liked how this fiberglass looked when i mocked it up, looks really nice cuz of the glossy finish and texture, other than that, that is my case after powder coater Cosmic White smile.gif i removed the HDD cage, because i dont want mechanical hdds in my case cuz it nots cool???

4. Here is another mock up of all the blue led fans swapped out for pink leds, looks purple for some reason, but its pink with my new fan controller nzxt sentry 2, had this controller in the past and i really like it, so i bought it again.

Here is more pics of the case from up close that way u guys can see the flakes/crystals/glitter??? i really like it, just got another option instead of getting a plain white powder coated case smile.gif

5. Last but not least, this is how my pc stands right now, I got sheet metal and bent it for psu cover, mounter SSD on cover (wanna show off my SSD) and the video card, cpu cooler, etc. It's a fail cuz i dont hav the acrylic placed on the side panel either, which i will take a pic with my phone and upload in a few.... but here is what it looks like...

Here is how it stands right now, Like RIGHT NOW RIGHT NOW.

really like how the white cathode gives the acrylic a nice color on the edges, im really considering in upgrading this little beast, wanting to get a new mommy board and possibly another 7770 in the future, but for now this is how it will stay, i hav school coming up and thats a lot of $$ for tuition, so i will slowly get new parts to upgrade this system, other than that im very happy with my PC, i wasnt really expecting this turnout, but i am more than happy with it. I know it really needs cable management, but i left it like that because im really considering in sleeving the psu and mobo connections so it all looks really nice and clean, as for the HDDs i threw them in there just so that i dont hav them lying around in my room, one more thing, i need to get some case feet, because the orignal ones where rubber sticky, and well they got ruined while i removed them, soo looking for case feet, gon check on ebay, just need something cheap so the chassis doesnt sit on body. i will post PC specs later, too tired and wanting to go to sleep for tonite...
