HELP! New drivers cause low FPS in games! Nvidia GTX560m

Thread Starter
So I installed new drivers for my gtx560m when I bought diablo 3 and ever since then i've had low FPS in ALL my games, not just diablo 3. Like League of Legends which has been running perfectly on my computer since it's not a demanding game, has now started having low FPS for me which is driving me crazy! And Diablo 3 is close to unplayable when large monster packs are on my screen at the same time... Hope someone knows how to fix this because it's driving me crazy!

Thanks in advance

PS. didn't find any related threads so I created a new one, bash me if you find a thread about this that already exists!

If I where you my first step would be to re install driver's. To do this and make sure there is issue with cross installed driver's manually uninstall the video driver's and install them again. This will verify if the install was botched or not. If performance is still low then you should roll back one version or to the version of driver's you had before performance dropped.

P.S. I would ignore anyone who bash's you about this. Yes its a somewhat common issue with GPU driver's but asking never hurt anyone.

Sorry for a late response, another week in the military without a decent computer to write here with biggrin.gif

Anyways, I tried re-installing the drivers but it didn't work... Still low fps in games like league of legends, starcraft 2, diablo 3 etc... Had a smiliar problem a few years back and my friend fixed it but cant remember how ... Any more ideas?

If you did a fresh install, this causes nVidia Control Panel settings to default. Your friend may have created a custom profile in the NCP that boosted your framerate?

I highly doubt that but it's possible, any ideas what settings I should tweak in the control panel settings to get the games run smoother?

Yea, Turn off any forcing of AA,FXAA or anything like that. Check any box that say's anything remotly like " let program decide settings" or "let program choose". If you want to turn up the eye candy just do it in the game's video settings tab, I have never seen forced settings from NCP work well.. Thats where I would start.
