does motherboard come with thermal paste?

when I got my intel 3770k I didn't get any thermal paste, just wonder if it comes with the motherboard or do I have to buy them separately. If so which brand should I get?

The CPU comes with Stock Cooler which has Thermal Paste pre-applied already. If you get a custom cooler then you probably will need to buy your own Thermal Paste ~ $10. MB never comes with Thermal paste. Some Custom Cooler do come.

I had a look at the thermal paste on the stock cooler, would these three strips of thermal paste be enough? Always had the impression that thermal paste must cover all the surface area.
