Hard to say. The price increase has to be sais is rather large. I would say a AM2 4400 will suite you better then if needs be you can overclock it.

Going 1.6 vcore I hit 3.2Ghz on the x2 4800. This corsair 6400 ram really overclocks well with more voltage, doing 4,4,3,4@1067 with 2.45vdimm. Not going to run at these speeds for everyday use as I can do 3.16 with 1.56 vcore and is a bit easier on the temps.
