Dr Debug A2 - IDE Detect?

My friends new rig is getting this msg, what's the cause of this? His HDD and optical are SATA. He tried another SATA port for his HDD, and now he gets no display on the screen..

That guy said it was from using a pirated DVD. Beats me. I've never encountered that error before. Search google?

Well I'm not quite sure how he got it working, but he tried the same port that didn't work before, and I found out that he plugged the VGA wire(he's away from his house and only has an ancient monitor available to him) into the motherboard, instead of his 7850. So I'm assuming it was trying to use the 7850, but he plugged it into the 3570k's HD 4000 VGA port on the mobo, so once he used a dvi to vga adapter on the 7850 all is well and he's in windows 7 now.

I'm getting te AE debug code again after 3 months of not having it? My 4.8 OC was stable played BF3 all day on and off yesterday. I power on the computer this morning and get the dreaded AE. It has to do with legacy device I think, but I do not have anything legacy installed. I flashed to 3101 BIOS and it still happens.

I lowered my overclock to 4.2 and I can boot without the AE. Is my CPU degradding? My 4.8 was not at any extreme voltages. I hade offset and it would max at 1.43v core VTT 1.15v, LLC high.
