A promotion and you're downsizing 'puters? headscratch.gif

Still, looks like a pretty clean setup you've got biggrin.gif I imagine your electric bill is also thanking you. wink.gif

Also - jelly of your desk. I'd love one of those corner-y type desks m'self, but that'll have to wait till I can sell my other one.

The more computers, the more time I spend on them... Kind of a cold turkey project redface.gif

Besides, I'm down to one PC, one laptop, an IPad and a Samsung Galaxy. Add my Blackberry to the mix and I think that is enough tech for one guy.

I could easily re-up this rig too. Currently my 2600k runs at 1.23 vcore at 4.5ghz with HT enabled. I had a 3770K and a Z77 board that was nowhere near as impressive...

All I would really need to do if I wanted to get back into gaming is drop a second 670 into the system for SLI (my AX850w easily handles that).

I have 4 more free SATA ports for hard drives (and 5 bays to put them in with the addition of the Lian Li hard drive cage). Due for another as my current 5TB is almost full.

Once you go 27, you won't go back biggrin.gif

My first real desktop was a prebuilt HP from Best Buy that came with a 19inch. I made my first rig and bought an Acer 23inch, then added the 19inch as dual monitors, then eventually bought an Acer 27inch (This one not This one). I love it, and don't think I'll ever sell it (Which is a rarity, considering I'm just like you. I love selling my parts tongue.gif)

Can I see a closeup of your router/thing? Is there some stand on it? It looks cool and custom.

Also, why do you need tablets? I bought a Nook Color, got bored and sold it. Got a Asus Trans, was unimpressed and got the Prime. Loved the Prime, then realize there's no point to a tablet without active digitzer (Galaxy Note > without the phone part and much larger screen). Now I have two Transformers and I'm trying to sell them.

Also I love the desk and lamp. I feel like we have similar tastes thumb.gif

I see your from toronto, go on kijiji and search u3011 and there is a authorized reseller on there selling for $1250 tax in.

and ya i hate canada computers, i just go there sometimes because its convenient being up the street from me..

I agree with you in part regarding the tablets. I've owned a whole bunch. The reason I settled on the two I have now is based on my usage.

I travel by air for work quite a bit (usually to the states) so I take the IPad 2 64GB for watching video and movies. I also use it occasionally for reading although I find it a bit unwieldy given its size. The Samsung Galaxy 7.0 Tab+ is perfect for reading; Last fall I sold over 600 books to a member here at OCN (local of course!) and then proceeded to replace my entire collection with digital versions of my books. I've also been something of a fiend on Amazon Kindle lately (works fine on my Samsung with the Kindle app despite being in Canada). I currently have about 1200 ebooks in my reader biggrin.gif

I had a huge fight with them about returning the monitor. I bought it on Monday. Called Asus Tuesday am and got an RMA number. Went into the store I bought it at Tuesday at lunch.
They wanted to test it. I pointed out that I provided them with the Asus RMA number which should be sufficient and I ended up in a shouting match with the store manager (Well I did the shouting...). I finally had to go back to work so I left the monitor with them to test, this was at 11:30am.
I called at 2:30 after my meeting had finished and indicated I would be on my way in to pick up my refund. The technician told me they had been testing the monitor at 60hz and hadn't seen the flickering issue...
This was the part of the story where I lost my temper mad.gif Who buys a $660 120hz monitor and runs it at 60hz?
I got to the store about half an hour later. The store manager would not give a refund and said he would only give me a store credit "less" a restocking fee. Their policy clearly states refund on DOA's within 7 days. He refused to admit there was a defect.
So then while in the store I got on the phone with their head office and conferenced in one of my companies' legal counsel (a good friend of mine). In about 10 minutes (which was mostly comprised of threats on our part, namely taking Canada Computers to small claims court and filing complaints with Asus and the Better Business Bureau), the head office finally acquiesed and provided instructions to the manager to give me a refund.
I have literally spent thousands of dollars at the store over the last several years. The store manager knew this as I have spoken to him in the past on mulitple occasions.
This is why NCIX will put Canada Computers out of business.
In the end I went back to the Samsung S27A950D which is a stellar monitor. I also returned the AMD 7850 and grabbed a GTX670 (took all of 2 minutes at NCIX to accomplish this without a single issue).

And this is why I only order things from NCIX, not to mention NCIX price matches online as well as in store, doesn't put up a fuss over everything, and has much nicer, and more knowledgeable staff.

Canada computers has been a thorn in the computer hobby since they were only the one store at Finch and Young, I stay away from them as much as I can.
