Is this why a lot of people hate BF 3? - Page 2

There were people who rushed in and died almost instantly anyway.
People actually had to group up to play vs tanks, it forced people to play as a team and try to do something against the powerful opponent and a MBT has to be considered one. A good and determined anti-tank squad in a big public game was enough to keep me busy and stopping from me being too greedy.
Now you can disable and get the enemy tank without a problem as a single soldier, it's beyond my understanding now.. mad.gif
Now, as it seems, it's all about camping in the other side of the map and "sniping" with the MBT or the IFV and I totally hate camping..

You could put that the other way around: In my eyes tanks are huge assets and they should require some teamwork to master (a repairguy, gunner and driver). This is the case after a the patch.
before you could (like u probably constantly did) whore the tanks by yourself and be safe inside a moving killmachine (which doesn't require teamwork), because the enemy would need alot of effort to take you out.

To put it simple: in a game the biggest assets should require the most (team)work to obtain/use.

no offense though.

you're right on one thing though, nowadays I find myself cursing at a teammate because he's to scared to move the tank up to the objective and protect the charge and he just costs us the whole round because of his 'tank sniping'.

The list of reasons I dislike BF3 is pretty damn long, I'll list a few:

1. Shooting mechanics have become tedious, feels far too easy to get headshots, spray fire and you've pretty much got one.

2. Certain weapons being ridiculously overpowered, especially in Team Deathmatch, where there's not much point in using any other weapon.

3. Stuck in the same scenario's over and over again, no dynamic online warfare, same thing over and over again, no one works together, everyone that doesn't want a vehicle runs out, and gets messed up by enemy vehicles because they don't realise that having an effective anti-tank squad is vital to success in BF3 maps that're heavily vehicle focused. Snipers plague certain maps, camp in the exact same areas every single game, every death, they run straight back to their camp-place. No Assault players actually revive anyone, and when they do, it's usually on Hardcore cause they've just shot you down and feel bad. Anti-Tank dudes using rockets to kill players rather than tanks... Support abusing the insanely large magazines and surprisingly great accuracy. In-fact, I watched a video of a 36 killstreak using Support, and the M60. He just ran round like a headless chicken. How no one shot him, I have no idea! It's one of the machinima video's I think.

4. Air combat & having air control is almost an entirely different game, the rate at which pilots actually get points renders any form of air combat useless, most of the time, there's either one amazing player, dominating the skies, getting the drop on unsuspecting victims trying to get into jets or helicopters. Or no one can get in the sky as everyone on the ground is too focused on gunning helicopters and jets down instead of tackling the actual objectives.

5. A lot of the maps have distinct advantages towards specific sides, deeming one side the clear victor in the first 5 minutes which is extremely frustrating if you're the one with the disadvantage.

6. Many of the weapons and attachments feel overpowered and render owning weapons that don't have a lot of unlocks useless. Unless you're willing to pile hours and hours into team death match just to level your weapons, which unfortunately, I cannot be bothered to do, there's no real point in upgrading from your weapon with the most attachments. Plus, team death match may as well be free for all, the sheer amount of team kills is astonishing on hardcore.

7. Every game feels exactly the same, there's nothing that separates one game from another, you quickly get back into the action with no real tactics, no one ordering people around, everyone just going crazy from the get go, fighting for vehicles or even places to camp on the smaller maps.

8.The graphics are inconsistent, there's some great textures, and some absolutely awful ones, much of the visuals are only decent due to enhancements from sun beams, shadows and effects and maximum AA. Even when you're in a firefight, and you know you're taking fire, it doesn't feel right, you don't feel like you have enough weight behind your avatar, as soon as anyone gets shot, they're off sprinting for the high heavens, it becomes a case of whack a mole in smaller maps, oh look there's a guy, oh no wait, he's ran off. So, why're we still waiting here for him to flank us? I have no idea.

9. Which brings me to another annoyance, people don't seem to have any sense, they'll get shot from behind time and time again cause they're too busy looking down that corridor they've occasionally seen the enemy run by. No one seems to make any decisions to rush people, so when one person runs out, no one does, and he dies. Happens far too often.

10. When on a vehicle map, most of the people that don't get a vehicle are forced to run for miles and when they finally reach their destination, get slaughtered by a tank. Rendering the 5 minute sprint fest, a complete waste, putting one player out of combat for enough time to make the re-spawn of vehicles have already done 2 rotations, and you're stuck being "the dude that has to run everywhere" until the game has broken in a bit more.

11. Snipers using Jets to get up high... this happens in almost every game, or helicopter pilots that get in them, just to fly to the highest point in the map and jump out. I'm sick and tired of the way that the vast majority of people play games, with stupid names and ridiculous tactics that you'd hardly call tactics. Strapping C4 to vehicles, firing RPG's every which way. Exploiting things that just ruin the experience because they find it funny.

Admittedly, you will get this with any game, especially one with as large of a community as BF3. I think, the only way BF3 is going to get any better, is if they improve the teamwork interface, so when someone asks for a lift, you get points for picking them up, minus points if you don't. When in a firefight, if an enemy tank/vehicle is nearby, it should tell you to use a SOFLAM, if you don't you lose a class point, if you do, you gain one, just simple mechanics like that, which will force players to utilise what they have available to them. Also, if you run away from your squad without the squad leader commanding you to go out of X radius, then you should start to lose points, again forcing people to work together. Time and time again, there's all this potential for great teamwork, yet there's no interface for it, it's just, chuck them in with all this equipment, let them figure out what it does. People will just abuse things cause it's funny.

I cannot be bothered wasting anymore time & effort talking about it!

Most of your points are about teamwork. I don't blame you, but in my eyes teamwork games are not really meant to play public.

When playing competitivly as a team, or as a team against public, then you win and most of your arguments are solved. Same as was with BF2, the game isn't really dynamic on public, but it's so much fun as to play as a team.

Somtimes I think everyone blames the game instead of the public players. We asked dice for another BF2 like game that focusses on teamwork, I think they well delivered that, but you seriously can't ask them to make every public player play as a team, that's just stupid. Blame other players for not cooperating.

They still made the game alot more enjoyable on public then BF2, and that's a pretty good achievement in my book considering everyone plays for themselves.

I used to play competitively in Div9 for a while and trust me, ALOT of tactics (plz don't say metro and tactics in the same sentence though).

Some people should really start playing this teambased game as a team against another working team, go to mumble give each other tasks, tactics, communicate, then come back and tell me how awesome the game is. Don't judge a teambased game when not eve having tried playing as a team.

BF3 was clearly meant to be a successor to BF2, one of the most teamwork related games, that was their main selling point.

Keep in mind that most post to complain, rarely does someone post to say good things about a game.

Pointing that out is like trying to sell it to someone....

I mean running restaurants its the same thing - one bad experience and that guest/s will tell 10 people how bad it was. One good experience might net you a repeat customer, without even telling anyone else.

So... not that you're trying to sell it, but it's like dining at a restaurant that you had a really crappy experience at (like those of us that find issue with the game). We tend to point out the flaws.

I enjoy the game, allthough the patch made it alot less for me as well.
I've got awesome stats (LIama16 (with a capital 'i' after L)), bute before the patch I didn't even have the m16a3 in my top list. now after the patch my accuracy went down from 22% and I found myself whoring the m16 as it's clearly the only superior gun right now.

I play mostly just teamwork.

A few things repeated a thousand times seems more realistic.

The sun glare does annoy me, your kitted out with the latest "everything" the modern battlefield can offer except everyone forgot their shades - and they new they were going to the equator to fight. It really needs team/squad voice chat, the only way to effectively co-ordinate even a small squad of four is voice comms. Without that public servers will be a rabble.

Yeah I don't blame ya tongue.gif, I'm just trying to point out that some think the game is written off because they read here and there about bad experiences, while there are hundreds of thousands probably enjoying it right now as we speak.
