Don't wait too long...I'll be placing it on my Ebay store this week thinking.gif
Would consider it if it's a DD and the right price of course.

I guess what i'm after is best buy. After alittle reading it seems if I Xfired my 6870, i would see a significant amount of improvement. I already have one adding the second would be $160 after xfx rebate( about 8 wks.) I'm thinking crossfiring is the cheapest way to get the performance. Will this perform better than a single 7870??

From the last link it looks like i need to make a move on a 6870 before they are gone. From other articles i have read they scale great in Xfire and would put me past the 6950 in performance , but maybe shy of a 7870?? Would also save me the hassle of selling my current 6870 and ending up paying a bit more for a single card. That last link was really helpful.thumb.gif

Hi hotrod , imho if youre gonna xfire , i would maybe get a 6950 then save up for another 6950 lol , obviously if you can do that biggrin.gif , ive been running xfire 6950's for about a year now with eyefinity and yet to have a game that they cannot max out ! , plus on the upside , if you do enough research there are certain 6950's that you can unlock the shaders on to 1536 and oc to 6970 spec without changing voltage or timings !

Just stick with your HD 6870. The HD 7870 is due for a price cut when Nvidia releases GK104 chip based GTX 660. Expect news from Nvidia at computex in a week's time.

http://vr-zone.com/articles/nvidia-geforce-gtx-660-is-the-fifth-gk104-board-comes-out-for-computex-2012-/16038.html

When the HD 7870 falls below USD 300 sell your HD 6870. Spend the extra money and get a HD 7870. a HD 7870 can be pushed to 1150 -1200Mhz for GTX 580 performance. here is a review of sapphire HD 7870 with voltage OC at 1270 Mhz

http://www.hardocp.com/article/2012/04/26/sapphire_hd_7870_oc_edition_video_card_review/4

So be patient and you will reap benefits. do not rush into a HD 6870 CF . thumb.gif

So be patient and you will reap benefits. do not rush into a HD 6870 CF . thumb.gif
Solid advise. I get to a point sometimes to get something, just to get something better. In the grand scheme of things my 6870 serves it's purpose well. I'm only at a resolution of 1920x1080 and ave. 60 - 70 fps on most games that i play and benches i run. I really don't need an upgrade right now. I am trying to be patient especially with a cpu. Diligently waiting on PD, for good or bad. Again, thanks for the solid advise +1 Rep.
