I finally got around to trying out this service, with the game Risen.

The good:
1) very fast download speed (I got 2.3MBps on a 20mbps line)
2)The game installed without a problem.

The bad:
1) Limited selection of commercials (I've seen the same wow add 3 times now
2) Limited selection of games to download
2) In games videos ( ie: pre rendered cut scenes) seam to have a decreased resolution, videos looked very blocky at time's

All in all, its a good service that could get better in time.

If they actually provide a good selection of games I can see this really cutting down on piracy because its completely free, most people pirate because of DRM and how ridiculous the prices have become for games. If there is a legal alternative that provides most of the benefits of pirating I think that most will stop.

Bingo. How many people who have paid for a game, have also pirated said game AFTER their purchase to escape the DRM. It's a very small minority, but the fact that it happens at all says a lot.

hope they dont do what australian Television does. if you are watching a long program or a movie you watch 15min before a set of 5 min advertisments then you will be watching 10min of the program then 10 min then 5 min of the program and 15 min worth of of adverts etc etc.. i freakin hate it ugh competitivesmiley.png
