I have the same Dismatech that Mike pictured and it helps a little but your going to have parts everywhere after a little while. I just keep them as confined to my area as possible and when I start filling the counter with parts, try not to leave them there to long or you will hear about it.
Like Bass said too, I have plastic bins that I put most of my stuff in and just pull them out from under a spare bed when I need the stuff.
Good luck, all you can do is hope she is understanding. My wife just looks at my Dewar and benching gear and wants nothing to do with it.

She actually BUILT my HTPC02 rig (and cable managed it decently even). She also assembled about half of my loop on my main rig. Could be part of the reason my board is dead?
