How should I go about sleeving those? The cord has a total of six wires but I need the 8 pin. Should I run two more wires where there are two blank spaces on the other end?

Sometimes the rails are active and what you are suggesting would work, however I wouldn't know until you test the blanks spaces (I am assuming you are talking about the spots on the connector) with a volt meter first.

Otherwise just splitting the corresponding cable to fill in the empty two holes and switching out your 6pin connector for a 8pin.

Part 10 - Double Wire Guide
This will be the Double Wire Guide for cleanly splicing a power supply wire to clean it up. This is most important when dealing with powersupplies that have split wires in many different places. They can make sleeving frustrating if you don't know how to handle them. I hope by watching this it will make the process easy and less agitating.

Ok, I understand the method of splicing. I wanted to ask this though, By splicing the wires, are we causing any problems in the psu? small wire going together into one hole with a larger one. Should the spliced wire be larger gauge etc.. to carry what it needs or supposed to carry.

Naw, the wires (18awg) are enough to handle what the psu is providing.

Got a quick question for you, as I want to go back and finish the last 2-3 wires on my 24pin extension.

How the heck do you get your extensions so controlled? My wires all seem to want to get in each others way, each level etc. Is that because they're all measured slightly differently? I can see one isn't as 'tight' as the others which I'll redo but does it highlight a bigger problem and more need redoing?

Hi LutroO,

Many many thanks for sharing these vids, Yours are the main reason I'm going to attempt my first ever project biggrin.gif

Can I ask please if you've done a SATA power video, especially showing those cables that have say 3 or 4 SATA power connectors on one cable? It's the only thing I currently haven't seen so wouldn't like to tackle it without seeing a video on it?

Thanks again for all your hard work,

Peace smile.gif

Love the guide! Great job of the vids.

Because of Lutro I can't put a PSU in a case without sleeving it.

I second this.

Space Monkey "Can I ask please if you've done a SATA power video, especially showing those cables that have say 3 or 4 SATA power connectors on one cable? It's the only thing I currently haven't seen so wouldn't like to tackle it without seeing a video on it?"

And how about a few more tips on getting the wires so nice and straight/uniform hahaha,

I want I want I want.

Keep the videos coming,  I haven't missed one yet.
