Video Sleeving Guide Series - Page 7

You misunderstand. I'm referring to his heatshrinkless guides for both plastic sleeving and paracord. For the plastic sleeving he uses some heat shrink to help get the sleeving melted, then he cuts off the heatshrink. For the paracord he doesn't use the he a think at all, but instead melts it directly. I was just curious as to why the difference.

You can't get enough heat into the paracord to melt it sufficiently if you use heatshrink. Well you can but by that time the heatshrink is a gooey mess.

Also due to the way that PET sleeve is constructed it needs the heatshrink to hold its integrity while it melts enough to 'weld' to the pin. Without the heatshrink it doesn't melt evenly. Paracord is a tighter construction and doesn't need to be held in place while it melts.

Ahhh. I figured it was something like that for the PET sleeving. I was just curious as to why the different method for the paracord, and now it makes sense. Thank you.

Hey Lutro, I know you're busy but...please, please get to the sata power cable guide. I've followed all your guides so far and made several purchases with you to get my power supply sleeved correctly. Now all that's left is to do a couple molex cables and the sata power cable. I haven't been able to locate a good guide for that anywhere. Awesome guides, thanks buddy.
