How does the game need to be rebalanced if the current balance makes Blizzard the more money than what you are proposing?
Anyway, I know at least a few people who have completed the game on inferno that haven't touch the AH.

Also, more casual players who don't want to grind out key items may well be more attracted to the game because they can trade gold for them conveniently in the standard AH.
So, it's not just about the fee Blizzard will take, it's about attracting more people to the game. After all, you don't have to use the AH, so it's existence isn't going to discourage anyone.

Stands for Real Money Auction House. Currently you can buy and sell items for gold. Blizzard is planning on implementing one where you buy and sell for real money, and Blizz takes a flat $1.50 per sale. The auction house system is currently too buggy for them to risk the real cash on it, so it might be awhile before they roll that out.

There is no proof that he pirated anything, just a reason for suspicion. Perhaps he read about it on a news site, too. There are many ways to get this kind of information without downloading it.
