I received my Quad TEC - Page 2

I think your block dont sit very good...double check it!
Thread Starter
Im pretty sure that 34c on the block is very high as a watercooling loop gets down to 25c as it is the "average" ambient. I was planning on running the block at -18 at full load with 17v on 17c ambient.

don't know what's wrong with my Quad TEC it just can't tame the hot 3770K even on stock
Hit 90C during LinX (realtemp) on stock clock (3.9GHz turbo) although the block temp is still showing 34C.

TIM used is MX-4 and 3770K is not de-lid yet.
My loop contains 2x 360 rads, push pull with 12x Scythe GT AP15s and 1x D5 + 250 res.

It sounds as if the TECs aren't even turned on and its working like a really bad Waterblock. Do the Cold Plate temps actually drop when there is no load? Otherwise it does sound like a seating issue.

whats your humidity lvl there? Can you take a picture of the front lcd screen?
Humidity might be a factor as its dew point protected?

I'm showing you having 80-90% humidity in Panang Malaysia right now..

Hate to tell you this, but the problem is the humidity in the air, the CPU has such terrible Thermal Resistance that it goes up about 55°C when cooled at 26°C. If you want the block to preform for you, you're going to have to insulate and M1ndch1|l can send you a new firmware to allow you to set the temperature. You simply replace the chip on the controller and away you go. Sorry that it's not working for you because of the environment.

Arghhh this explained why it's not working in a humid environment. frown.gif I seriously don't know about this. it's a hot summer here until Sept & i don't have an AC to cool my room.

If you're really not intent on insulating, you'll have to wait till September. Might catch some lucky days where humidity isn't so brutal.

If you don't mind insulating, you can contact M1ndch1|l about getting new firmware for your chiller's controller, get yerself some dielectric gel (Vaseline), some neoprene and seal that bad boy up. In all honesty, insulation isn't actually that bad. If you do a good job, you don't even have to redo it until you want to change something biggrin.gif. If you want help doing that, I'm more than willing to help you out. It's actually really easy. Just a messy cleanup, and that's not really that bad if you do it right.

even with your humidity, your still getting 6ºc below ambient @ 42% dutycycle.. which means your barely running the tecs (good cop) and still getting below ambient safely with the controller.
