your voltage is pretty high, and I'm guess in your neck of the woods your ambients are high as well. I think fox did 5.1ghz on 1.46 volts and with ambient a bit lower. I had trouble at 5ghz with my chip as well but I never pushed over 1.5v (I'm not as brave.. hehe)

you may have to delid the cpu and reapply some good TIM to get to 5ghz on that processor.

Also the tecs are 24v imax tecs so going to 16v with a meanwell se-1000-15 will help.. hit me with a pm before doing so..

Did you not grease the socket? Is pin rot applicable with this blocks temps?

For 24/7 under ambient, the socket has to be greased. Moisture always find a way in and water will cause copper pins to rust. I used Vaseline and it worked well. The block needs to be sealed better. Masking tape is not enough to stop moisture, especially around the wires. I learned my lessen when I took my block apart, there was water between the TEC cold side and copper cold plate due to bad sealing. Later I used neoprene tape and liquid electrical tape to seal all openings.

5GHz is already quite impressive. Definitely try delid the IHS and you will get more from your 3770K thumb.gif
As of the Real Temp software, you can see in this thread, the real temp results always show that the sum of core temp and distance to tjmax equals to 105. It should always be the case no matter below or above zero, because core temperature sensor measures the distance to tjmax (105 for ivy) and then calculate the core temp. So the lowest temperature displayed should be zero. Certainly your block is subzero but I'm unsure why Real Temp displays minus core temps in your tests. It could be false reading or something. I suggest you download Core Temp to double check it smile.gif

I've checked the realtemp tjmax was set to 91C (default) so you're right about the subzero reading was false. Once set to 105C you'll get the actually reading. biggrin.gif

You will still be subzero, Realtemp will just stop at zero..

Also the controller may be shutting down at 1c because target temp shows 1c. We will get you fixed up smile.gif

whats your ambients out there now?

35c? Ouch I live in Canada west side so its always ~20 in the summer and ~10 in the winter. As regards to the chip I basically am going to keep selling my CPUs till I get one I am satisfied with then probably delid only question is how should I insulate the bare die?

yes 35C ambient. Malaysia is a hot country.

I think this is the best I could achieve here in which I believe it's still a lot better than watercooling-only kit smile.gif
