I realize something now. How do I hook up my TEC to my external PSU? I know I need to connect it positive to positive and negative to negative, but there is no power switch on this thing. How do I turn it on or off with the system?

the tecs will shut off when the controller shuts off. If you want to turn off the external psu as well, you would need a SSR (solid state relay).

Aslong as the controller is connected to your Main PSU and shuts off when the PC shuts off it should be good.

Aux PSU => Driver #1
Aux PSU => Driver #2
Main PSU => Controller

If it is a meanwell there is a remote sense function built into the PSU. You can use that to turn on or shut off the current to the TEC's but the psu is still basically on.

He has 4 controller boards for the quad so he doesn't need a remote sense fuction. He wants to turn the meanwell completely off is how I read his post.

I just don't want the thing to use a ton of power or for anything to get damaged.

The meanwell shouldn't take much power without a load.. personally I'd wire up some type of relay to turn the meanwell off when the computer shuts down.
