7970 stuttering and Low FPS?

Hey guys, I just started playing BF3 and BC2 again and have encountered some issues. I seem to be stuttering quite a bit in both and am not getting very sufficient frames in game. In BC2, I couldn't go higher than 65 FPS! Is this a driver issue? Maybe defective equipment (pray to god it's not)? Can anyone help me understand this?

Have you reseated the card?
Did you reinstall catalyst and the drivers or install over the old?
Did you run driversweeper when you switched cards?
Did you switch cards or have you always ran this card with this rig?

Just trying to narrow down the possibilities.

I switched cards in this rig.
I used ATIMan, not driversweep (I should try that).
I have installed latest Catalyst 12.4 but it says I'm on 12.3

MY GOD. I just realized:

My old drivers weren't sweeped in Safe Mode, only in standard. There is probably something still there from my 69xx series card

This is completely normal. This is an exclusive stutter bug feature that AMD has with all of its products. thumb.gif

Now, my drivers aren't installing properly! This is what the error is whenever I attempt to start Catalyst:

"Could not load file or assembly 'CCC.Implementation' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified."

What now? I used Driver Sweeper to delete it (in safe mode of course) and now this.

Is there any catalyst on your pc right now? If so try uninstalling it thru the control panel.

I am having the exact I REPEAT EXACT SAME PROBLEM WITH THE EXACT SAME CARD.... i forgot to run driver sweep and installed a fresh version of windows, then when i did actually run it i couldn't uninstall catalyst.... i ended up restoring it, before i did a driver sweep.... then uninstalling whatever ati stuff was on there.... then i did the driver sweep. Im gonna install the drivers from the disk wish me luck. ill get back to you....
