Thread Starter
Can i do the following:

Slot A: 1GB Corsair PC6400
Slot B: 512mb Corsair PC6400
Slot C: 1GB Corsair PC6400
Slot D: 512mb Corsair PC6400

Total 3GB.

Is it okay to use different sized sticks when dual channeling?

Cheers,

H

uh its not really recommended, it just screams memory error and blue screen of death IMO.

3 gigs isnt really nessary unless your doing some video editing and whatnot, but for gaming, 2gigs is usually the standard these days. =)

It will work. It'll be fine if the pairs are identical. But most applications and games today won't utilize 3GB, I would recommend to take the 2x512 out.
