1.44 volts seems high, I thought those c2d chips were anorexic when it came to vcore? Check others voltages first, then compare yours...

Everything else is on auto or stock. So basically the bare minimum as far as I can tell.

*EDIT - I should note that in the BIOS under hardware monitor or whatever, it says my CPU temp is about 29-30 degree C. So the ever popular question comes up - Which do you believe, TAT or the BIOS? I've read all the discussion on this in other threads so no need to pontificate on the subject here, but who the heck really knows?

I've got all my fans all running at max speeds. I just installed a Zalman fan controller along with 3 more 80mm Zalman fans and a RAM fan...It's like an ice box inside the case.

I'd beleive bios over anything else man, if your bios says its at 30, it is at 30... download a different monitoring program

So the ever popular question comes up - Which do you believe, TAT or the BIOS?
i feel the same way, i took my CPU back to where i bought it to be tested they only looked at the BIOS temp and refused to use anything else as they said they wouldnt trust anything esle. I have now emailed Intel asking which is to be used when taking into consideration that 61.4C is the max safe opertating temperature. when i get a reply i will let you know.

And yes definitely post back when you hear from Intel. Some people on these boards swear by TAT...other say just the opposite. Who knows, right?

Edit* - I'm going to reseat the HSF again and use less AS5 in the hopes that my temps will work out.
