The Load 'em Up Power Supply Load Contest - Round 1

Thread Starter
*****UPDATE: We appreciate your patience for the results as we enter round 2 - the exciting part - of our competition. Participants and Round 1 winners will be announced early next week and Round 2 will be extended a accordingly to allow ample time for the power tests. Check back in this thread shortly!!*****

We've partnered with Cooler Master USA to bring about a contest that shows who can push power supplies to the limits, while giving you a shot to win CoolerMaster prizes including their newest Silent Pro Hybrid Series of power supplies, cases, coolers, and fans!

There are two ways to win!
  • The first chance at winning is just for submitting your system specifications as outlined below; you have a chance at winning in a random draw.
  • The other way to win is to be selected as one of the participants in the load competition after submitting your complete system specs.

We’ve simplified the rules as much as possible to allow competitors some freedom in determining how they arrive at a maximum load. Please see the Terms and Conditions for full contest details.

System Specification Submission Prizes

We will select 20 user system specification submissions to win up to a $100 gift card for Cooler Master's online store (http://www.cmstore-usa.com/); no competition needed, just submit your specs! An additional 6 users will be selected to participate and be eligible to receive a prize package worth $500. These six members will each receive one of the mystery prize packages filled with Cooler Master products just for fully participating in the load competition!

How to enter:

Sign up for a Overclock.net account, and use the RigBuilder tool to populate your CURRENT system information, including at least all of the following items, then reply to this contest thread to be considered:
  1. Case / Chassis manufacturer and model
  2. Processor manufacturer and model
  3. Number of Installed processors (e.g. 1, 2, 3, 4)
  4. Graphics card(s) manufacturer and model
  5. Number of Installed graphics cards (e.g. 1, 2, 2-way, 3-way, 4-way, Quad)
  6. Motherboard manufacturer and model
  7. Memory manufacturer and model
  8. Number of Installed memory DIMMs (e.g. 1, 2, 3, 4)
  9. Number of Installed HDD / SSDs (e.g. 1, 2, 3, 4)
  10. Number of Installed system fans (e.g. 1, 2, 3, 4)
  11. Number of Installed optical drives
  12. CPU and graphics cards cooling method with manufacturer(s) and model(s) (e.g. stock, liquid cooling, air cooling, etc.)
  13. Operating System

Load Em’ Up Power Supply Contest Prizes

6 user system specification submissions will be chosen by Cooler Master Staff. Those that accept the offer will be selected to compete based on the power supply model received to see who can achieve the greatest load on our power supplies within the limits outlined here.

  • Class A – 2 x Users with 4-way or Quad Graphics Cards – Will receive 1x Silent Pro Hybrid 1300W Power Supply, 10 x Cooler Master fans, 1 x P3 International Electricity Usage Monitor
  • Class B – 2 x Users with 3-way Graphics Cards – Will receive 1x Silent Pro Hybrid 1050W Power Supply, 10 x Cooler Master fans, 1 x P3 International Electricity Usage Monitor
  • Class C – 2 x Users with single or 2-way Graphics Cards - Will receive 1x Silent Pro Hybrid 850W Power Supply, 10 x Cooler Master fans, 1 x P3 International Electricity Usage Monitor

Competition Rules & Requirements:

  1. No Hardware Restrictions on CPU, Motherboard, Graphics Card, RAM, Cooling Method used (must match what was originally submitted to this thread)
  2. No more than the following: 1 x HDD / SSD, 10 x Fans (provided by Cooler Master), 1 x Optical Drive
  3. Overclock and stress test system components to achieve max power draw
  4. Computer and nothing else must be connected to provided P3 International Kill A Watt Electricity Usage Monitor (wattage usage on the display)
  5. System specs provided via RigBuilder must list your current system components, NOT future or desired components.

Upload a 1 to 2 minute continuous unaltered video to YouTube stating your name, OCN forum name and showing your max clocks obtained, all connected system components, the wattage draw on the P3 International Kill A Watt display while the system is fully loaded on the max clocks obtained, and show that the computer power supply cable is the only thing connected to the Kill A Watt. Submit the link to the YouTube video on the contest thread by the deadline mentioned in item (12) in the Terms and Conditions.
