590 bottleneck? - Page 2

Alright, I feel where you guys are coming from. Its just that I already have the Athlon and can easily get the Core 2 Extreme. I have a Corsair H60 and can probably overclock it to 4ghz because it is a good quality chip and my motherboard was also top quality at the time (dont we regret spending that much lol). I will search my local Craigslist for an i7 or good i5 to really open er up but I may just stick with the Core 2 overclocked depending on how much lag I feel. Thanks for all the input guys!

I just want to max out games while trying to work with what I have!!! Lol

I would say go with the qx9650.
1. It is a true quad core
2. It is faster
Run that system if you can't get your gpu usage over 90%, then I would consider upgrading your CPU, As you would have bottleneck.

Playing at your current resolution or even if you move up to a 1080p screen, there's no need for a 590. I'd personally by a GTX 670 and put all the money you saved towards a new motherboard and CPU as all that would benefit you much more than just a 590.

Just my 2 cents.

Yeah I will try to upgrade to a new processor. I think I may be able to trade my laptop for this guys Phenom II x6. I really don't need the 590 but a friend is giving me quite a deal on it.
