Noctua NH-D14 or XSPC Rasa 240 kit for 3570k

Thread Starter
Basically which do you guys think would be better? Noctua works out to be about half the price, does it get loud compared to the XSPC kit?

As for the XSPC kit, how often will i have to maintain it all? And would 1L of coolant be enough for the loop?
Uh and would a RS240 be good enough for just the i5 3570k? Otherwise the EX would be fine i assume.. thumb.gif

That or maybe a RS360, but i don't have the funds for a EX360 + cooltant.. I COULD get some car radiant coolant from the shed for nothing.. Maybe.

Also would i need any additives for the loop? Or would just running the red pre-mix be fine?

You should get the RS240, cause it's more fun. Also, coolant shouldn't cost you more than 2$ unless you want colored coolant. Just get distilled + kill coil.

I was thinking that.. But it's alot of money for "fun" tongue.gif
As for the coolant.. I can get some car engine coolant that would work fine for free/cheap that I could use for a while, I take it that I only need a coil if I'm using distilled water yeah? So if i got coolant i wouldn't need a coil? thumb.gif

EDIT: Colored coolant was part of why i wanted it! It'd look awesome!
But i guess i could sit on distilled water for a bit though! wink.gif

Another advantage with the RS240; you should be able to de-lid the 3570K with much lower risk to the die than if you had the NH-D14, that should give you much lower temps than you would be getting otherwise. That's if you're feeling up to it of course.

EDIT: I would recommend the EX360 with distilled and a Kill-coil, shouldn't add more than a few dollars!

The kits are just to much fun, it will start a bug u cant lose. Recomend going water for performance and fun, and there only about $20 more than the air, ( ur prices may be difererent) so yer go water u won't regret it, I fold 24/7 and only ever go above 42C and that's only the rs240 kit

It works out to be about $50 moreish...

As for de-lidding the 3570k.. I don't really feel safe doing so! I may end up doing it depending what my temps come out like at the end of the day! biggrin.gif

Either PC Case Gear or GA Mods (Australian). PC Case Gear works out cheaper for the coolant etc, but I'm looking at the GA Mods shop as it's got paypal and that's where my $190 is right now.
I'll be ordering next week most likely, also there's a *small* discount at GA Mods if you're an OCAU user (which I have an acc). But i can't use paypal then.. If depends how much of a discount it is! thumb.gif

The discount for being OCAU member is 3.5%.
As for coolants, if you want colour get Mayhems, which can be found here (Aus based site aswell) http://www.thekoolroom.com/search/?query=mayhems&records=24
Note: the shipping costs quite a lot if you're only ordering 1 item ($15 if I remember correctly).
