EVGA GTX 670 FTW Unboxing and Benchmarks [56K Warning] - Page 22

^ thanks for the link but it doesn't explain where the 6GHz figure comes from

also doesn't explain why WCK is sometimes rounded funny.

ie. if I set offset to 396-398MHz it shows 3499MHz but once I have the offest at 399MHz it suddently jumps up to 3506MHz

but I assume the lowest figure (default 1552MHz for FTW models) is the value most referred by the enthusiast community?

I'm the kind of guy who talks a lot and never actually do something. rolleyes.gif But, seeing all the nice results you guys in thread are getting and a e-tailer here in sweden now has the FTW for USD500 makes me so tempted to sell of one of my bike frames just so i can get this card and unlike last time i said that, this time it's gonna happen. wink.gif

And i still thinks OP should create a Google Spreadsheet where everybody can post their OC on the card, could be nice to see. thumb.gif

Hello everybody,

I recently went from a MSI Geforce 560ti Hawk to a EVGA Geforce 670 FTW and I have a few questions I'm hoping some of you can answer (i'm a total pc noob!)

I did a benchmark for Metro 2033 with the following settings:

Options: Resolution: 1920 x 1080; DirectX: DirectX 11; Quality: Very High; Antialiasing: AAA; Texture filtering: AF 16X; Advanced PhysX: Enabled; Tesselation: Enabled; DOF: Enabled

My average fps: 37.48

* Is this normal or is my card underperforming? I've read some reviews where the 670 FTW faired better?
* is my processor good enough or does it bottleneck my videocard?
* Does an overclocked i5 2500K (example @ 4 ghz) give more fps?

This is my setup:

i5 2500K @ 3.3 Ghz
8 GB of 1333mhz DDR Memory
EVGA GTX 670 FTW (recent drivers from Nvidia.com installed)
750 Watt PSU
Windows 7 64 bits

Hopefully you can provide me a definitive answer!
Thanks in advance.

Leroy

Figured I'd give it a shot at least. lol.
Edit:
So it turns out that after 1600MHz, the driver doesn't even fail. Everything just goes red. nerdsmiley.png
Reset, all good. wheee.gif

My cards do not throttle at any point or any temp?? Grant it they never reach 68C with fans on auto/default fan curve, but when I purposely set the fan at 30% even at 76C no down-clock or throttling occurred. Weird guess I got "golden cards"

My money is on it did and you just didn't notice... it's not much. Has nothing to do with it being a "golden" card or not.

in 3dmark 11 and vantage, how come my stock gtx 670 ftw shows its core clock as 705 mhz in the details after the benchmarks?

What sort of boost are you guys getting @ stock? I got around 1150 and with my current overclock (+44 on the core) I get around 1250. This seems reasonable right? Also is it normal that 100+ additionally on the mem doesn't increase my score more than 50 points?

(This is my 3dmark11 score
