Does anybody know how to remove the thermal armour? I've never had to do it before and I can't find info on it anywhere.

Thanks everyone for the help, I would respond more but I'm sure you're all aware that I have my hands full.

Sorry, but this is the best I can find (writing a chemistry report atm).... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q4VpTBWm1LI Go to 3:30 and he talks about how he removed it, and pans the camera. So I guess the spots he pan the camera are the places where the screws are located.

I'm aware that it's the P67 version in the video, but I assume that they would be similar.

It's connected by a series of screws on the backside of the motherboard (I found out while I was removing everything). I'm going to pick up several kilos of rice tomorrow and cover all my components in them.

It's a stupid question but would one type of rice work better than another?

Any type of rice would do the job. The purpose of rice is to absorb water from your components, as rice has the tendency to absorb water (until saturation point), while expanding.

You might want to also buy a container of some sort (if you don't have one already), as you have lots of components to bury.
