Noctua makes amazing fans but the colors are awful.

Noctua's fan colors are something almost everybody can notice right away and know its a Noctua brand fan. You either love it for it's performance or hate it because of the looks. How often are you gonna be staring at your case fans?

If your living room had an all black and blue theme, would you buy an air conditioner that is brown and beige? I wouldn't.

The colors don't matter in your case but it does in many other cases.

Performance is the big key, but aesthetics matter too. I love my AP-15's, but the color is awful. Thought about painting them, but I don't want to screw them up.

But basically we all agree performance is what matters the most, but some people value aesthetics too. Maybe some of you don't, but others do.

Edit: If I could spell aesthetic right the first time....sigh.

I own over ten Noctua fans. They are a lot more revolutionary than people assume. Very inaudible and still push a large amount of air. CFM doesn't really matter with the focus flow Notuca's ; the amount of air they push is through a smaller area creating great cooling with little noise.

I wouldn't say Noctua has inaudible fans. They are even clearly audible at low rpms since they have strange pitches. But the one thing they do right is make their PWM fans have no clicking noise. Plus they have very good build quality.

As for color, I couldn't care less if its dog poop brown or gun metal gray. As long as it has no tacky LEDs I'm happy...

Nah, just install an active noise cancelling device in your computer.
I believe that if you use ANC, there will be an audible hissing in the background. This same thing happens when ANC is applied to headphones. It uses a different noise frequency to cancel another frequency out. I suppose it can be very quiet but definitely not inaudible.

The BEST solution for noise would be to advance our technology so far that our processors will run so efficiently, passive cooling would be more than enough. That should be possible when we get to nanochips. Moore's law would no longer apply either...

Hmmm... with what I know in engineering about turbofan engine tech that doesn't really make since the way you said it. Usually that technique ends up with more noise unless its design reduces turbulence. You mean less turbulence right?(through ducting, pitch angle of fan blades, etc.)
