RIVE or RIVF

Thread Starter
I decided to go with the i7 3820 over Ivy Bridge i7 3770k and wasn't sure if I need the RIVE or the RIVF.

What is the major difference between the two?

Both will work, and personally I would probably go with the RIVF. Or the msi xpower II.

you need 8 sticks of ram?
the only thing the extreme offers that the formula don't is some "cool" overclocking features, unless you wanna use it with ln2 the extras are not necessary.

Apparently the xpower II has problems with the 3820 because of its strap boost multi not being adjustablE.
