RIVE or RIVF

Thread Starter
I decided to go with the i7 3820 over Ivy Bridge i7 3770k and wasn't sure if I need the RIVE or the RIVF.

What is the major difference between the two?

Both will work, and personally I would probably go with the RIVF. Or the msi xpower II.

you need 8 sticks of ram?
the only thing the extreme offers that the formula don't is some "cool" overclocking features, unless you wanna use it with ln2 the extras are not necessary.
I should game.

Apparently the xpower II has problems with the 3820 because of its strap boost multi not being adjustablE.

My board is great! Only issues I've had so far is the little chipset fan not running, and I totally wrecked the plastic on that connector to pull it out and back in, but eh atleast it works now.
The pci clip thing also broke off.. so I'm guessing very poor plastic in general.

Think that's just making this board personal.

The bios have been nice to me! It decides the hdd should be the boot drive when ever I change anything in bios, but it's ok. I don't need to change anything.
