Corsair Vengeance 1500 and 2000

Thread Starter
Any input? Has anyone had the chance to compare the two? I just need it for DIII and Vent. Don't need anything amazing. The Logitech G330 I have is just annoying.

Thanks!
Olivia

I have the Corsair Vengeance 1500 and I'm fairly impressed with it.

It's a USB headset, so there are some implications of that alone. It cannot take advantage of a quality sound card because the audio processor is part of the headset. There are other cons to being a USB connection. The drivers are not too bad, but not so great, better than those for my sound card. But they could use some major improvement.

However, as far as audio quality goes it's definitely above par I think, it is a simulated 7.1 surround which is absolutely noticeable.
There is no miraculous device that makes a headset sound exactly like a full surround sound system, but this is a great simulation of that effect. It also has fairly strong bass, I've heard better, but most headsets don't have clear and powerful bass - this one does.

The microphone, often somehow overlooked on headsets, is of fine quality. It's no ultra high fidelity recording device, but it's adequate for any online gaming, VOIP, everyday recording. Somehow when they make quality headsets, manufacturers forget to put a good mic on it, that's not the case here.

It's quite comfortable, another feature often overlooked, it is a big headset as all quality headsets are pretty big. But I've had no discomfort with it.

Oh yeah It's surely worth the price, I would advise getting it.
There are better headsets, but I can't say anything too bad about this one.

I just purchased the Vengeance 2000 and I am very pleased with sound quality of the speakers and the quality of output from the microphone. I am not crazy about how long it takes to charge though, a good 2 hours for a full charge, and the battery in them did not last the estimated 10 hours, closer to 7-8 hours (i had the day of and sat on the computer ALL DAY). I would still say they are worth the money though, the sound is incredible and the fact that they are wireless is great. I used my HS1's for a while after the 2000's died on me and it felt like i was using 20 year old tech, THAT big of a difference in sound quality.

I would recommend these to anyone looking for a wireless solution. Or that just want some awesome sounding headphones.

Could you post the link to the review here when you upload it? I would really like to read an honest review about these. Also would be great if you could compare them to something like the Senn pc 360. (That is if you have tried them tongue.gif ) Thanks biggrin.gif

I own the headset. Its very nice, a little bulky but you get used to it almost instantly. Make sure to update your drivers if you want Surround sound.

Pros :
Great Sound Quality
Equalizer is fun to use
Three Surround sound settings, Studio, Cinema, Hall. All of which are great.
on-board audio. No audio card required! (My new build is going solely off this headset smile.gif )

Cons :
QC on mine was off, the - button on the volume adjustment block was broken, it stuck and would mute the headset.
But then again, I never use it, so its not an issue smile.gif
