Problem with P8P67-M Pro motherboard and a graphics card update

Thread Starter
Hey people I really need some help. I have a P8P67-M Pro motherboard and today I changed out my GTX 460 for a 6950 bios unlock to 6970. Although the ATi card doesn't work in the same slot the GTX 460 was in. It only works in the second slot (the white one). I really want to get this sorted now as I cannot make full use of my new graphics card and cannot play games comfortably.

The first slot was running @ x16 2.0
The second slot says it can run @ x16 2.0 but only seems to run @ x1 2.0.

Am I missing something?

Please help me sort this problem out.

Did you make sure to clean install the drivers? It should work in anyone of the 3 slots you have.

I have just removed all traces of nvidia from my machine. What is the next step you recommend?

I did do a clean install of the ATi drivers with the card in the second slot. It just doesn't give out any signal to my monitor on the first slot. But the nvidia graphics card does work in the first slot.
