No, you don't have to partition it. I recommend one big drive instead multiple little volumes.

Gotcha, how come he makes one big partition? it takes up the entire drive, what's the point of that?

Yeah at like 10:50 he says you need to partition the drive/make a new partition

Select custom install, and the partition you make is going to be the default size, or the entirety of your drive. Your drive will contain one large partition with Windows installed onto it

Edit : There's no need to partition off sections of your drive unless you really want to. I find it makes it confusing

not really. it used just to break up the drive into storage areas. thats all.

So are you saying I should make a partition that is the entirety of the drive like Paul does?

Yes. The partition itself is necessary. It allocates what portion of the drive the OS can use and formats the rest as usable space.

And no, you don't NEED to make the partition the entire size of the drive, but I recommend doing it that way because it's easier and all of your stuff is in one place.
