Is it true that you can only set the ASMedia SATA controller to enable/disable thereby preventing you from configuring AHCI or IDE mode parameters? Supposedly that is the case with the Max V Gene board. I'm not sure if this has cropped up on any other mobos.

Can anyone confirm this?

Better place to ask would be in the club thread for the board. Im positive though the guy is telling the truth, he has no reason to fabricate a lie. Luckily its only for one of the controllers. Intel ports can still be put in AHCI mode or IDE.

What might be a better question would be: Is the Asmedia controller forced to AHCI mode? Which would make sense.
