[swe] Nvidia: Geforce GTX 680 sells 60 percent better than GTX 580 - Page 2

Suspicious if you ask me, I know most places were able to grab shed loads of 670's anticipating high sales before the card was released to meet demand. The 680 however were never in stock to begin with in most UK retailers

i'd say an issue with 580 sales was that it came out crazy soon after the 480 so a lot of the 480 crowd couldn't justify the upgrade.
Also i think games are starting to catch/overtake hardware again as Dx11 is really starting to getting used so upgrading has another incentive besides from epeen. Think about it, high end 200 series cards were great bloody good performers until not that long ago.

nvidia, compare the gtx 680 sales with 480 wink.gif. People with gtx 480 barley "upgraded" to a 580. So yea thats not very nice of a comparison. I have no doubt gtx 680 is selling, but i truley see the profit in the 670.

This graph is totally misleading and doesn't actually say the 680 is outselling the 580. All it shows is how many weeks after launch both were sold out percentage wise across the globe. If anything this all but confirms people's suspicions about yields.

It really amazes me the absolute nonsense these companies release in graph form. I'm kind of surprised no one else caught this too.

Just read the source and they misinterpreted the graph as well. People must be looking forward to the weekend.

Or the GTX 680 is just priced 60% more competitively vs the GTX580 thanks to Rory Read pricing.

I knew better than most that GK104 was derived from GF104/114 and wasn't a true successor to GF100/110, but the correlating performance from last gen to this gen took a pretty big leap as these would have been some of the fastest "midrange' parts ever had nVidia labeled and priced them as GTX660s.

This is my personal favorite. Its funny how infantile the hype machine is in the electronics industry. It seems with computers and their components its the best of all. I mean, you guys dont believe this garbage do you? Granted, I am an NVIDIA guy myself, but look at these things.

"Studies have shown! The best card ever created!"
