Understood. Evidently the symptom is not damaging, merely annoying. I still did not like the idea of all my harware receiving power, having it cut, and the restart after 2-3 seconds .

If you change your mind, you could do it with a borrowed floppy that is only hooked up, but not fully installed. Re-flashing is easy with the various update options provided (Asus Update, EZFlash, AFUDOS). With the Asus Update you can do it w/o a floppy)

I didn't use a floppy to update the BIOS in my P5B. I used a flash drive for the first time and then I use "ASUS Update" to flash the BIOS, with ASUS Update you do it through Windows and I've done it twice with my P5B and about 4 to 5 times with my P5WD2-Premium, so it's perfectly safe.

Nothing has ever gone wrong in any of the BIOS flash I've ever done and.....

First, you download the BIOS zipfile from ASUS, then unzip it in any folder that you can remember the location and then fallow these steps:

Open ASUS Update, scroll down to the "update BIOS from file" and then you'll be asked where the file it, allocate the file and click next, it's that easy.

did you install it? If I recall correctly, it is on the Driver/Utility CD that came with the board. Or do you mean you can't find it in the website?

I really have only used the 0711 and the 0804 bios from asus with the 711 one I noticed the double boot quite a bit more then I do with the 804. now the only time I get that double boot is when going through the bios and doing a few drastic changes all at one time. then I get it. other then that a simple change here and there or just a normal reboot and I do not get the double boot just a single normal boot.

either way though it isn't that big of a deal once you know whats going on. first time I saw that Iwas just thinking aw shiz I broke something. but it's cool now
