i7 3930K 5 ghz prime95 test

Yesterday i finished with priming my i7 3930K at 5 ghz. I've got it stable for 6 hours . Stopped it manually after that. Ambient temperature was high, 26-27 C. Hottest core was ocassionaly 83 C, and processor 65 C maximum. For 6 hour prime stability i had to bump vcore to 1.46 V with LLC on ultra high. On load, vcore rised to a maximum of 1.488 V. Here are some pictures





All this was achieved with custom watercooling: Rasa cpu block, EK mosfet block, UT60 360 radiator, XSPC RS 360 radiator and XSPC EX 360 radiator. If anyone has similarly experience with i7 3930 K 5 ghz priming please let me know.

It was done with 15 min FFTs. Anyway i'm happy with 6 hour stability.

CPU and mosfet together in one loop and gpu in another loop. I have 2 pumps: DDC 1T plus in XSPC reservoir bay for CPU and mosfet, and XSPC pump-reservoir bay from RASA kit for the gpu. I had CPU, mosfet and gpu in one loop but temps were to high for 5 ghz overclock. I'm very satisfied with the board.

Believe me, for prime stability overclock and high ambient temperatures you will need at least 360 rad, probably two. What are your bios settings for 4.8 ghz overclock?

Hello again.

With slightly different approach ( BCLK on 125 + CPU ratio on 40 ) i managed i7 3930K 5 ghz 16 hour prime 95 stable . Ambient temperature was quite high 28-30 C. Maximum core temperature was 86 C, Vcore 1.45 V with LLC on ultra high. I enclose a few pictures:

Temperature difference between 4.7GHz OC and 5.0GHz OC depends on many factors. In my opinion the quality of the chip and the actual ambient temperature are among the most significant. I consider my chip average, not too bad. After all, under circumstances of whole experiment 1.45V vcore in bios and 1.488 V under maximum load ​​are not excessive values. I admit that the configuration with 3 radiators is probably overkill, especially when one considers how to cram everything into a case. And according to projections from martin rad/pump optimizer the difference between configurations with 2 and 3 of the radiator is only 1.5 C. I am convinced that at lower ambient temperatures the core temps also were lower. In what circumstances your temps stay under 65°C ? What are your bios settings? And what kind of cpu load are we talking about? What ambient temps?
