I can't imagine the power your chip puts out.

I'm already happy with my shy fx-8320 clocked at 4.8. tongue.gif
These chips are hungry btw. How is yours (wattage) ?

Hmm my mobo doesn't has that setting, only CPU IO, is it the same? I let CPU IO auto on 1.040v.

I see, thanks for share thumb.gif I guess 5GHz doesn't need VCCSA more than 1.20volt rolleyes.gif

I only have 2 sticks of 4 gigs 1600 MHz RAM. You probably don't need more than 1.2V for VCCSA. Try to test 5 GHz settings with various applications to be sure.

With Prime95 28.7 at 5 GHz it's 550-570W ( 250 W for CPU only devil.gif), gaming, rendering 250-400W. I have offset setting in BIOS and at idle it's below 100W.

Wow.
Expected a lot but that sure is a LOT. Don't know what mine uses though, haven't monitored yet.

Cpu probably uses a lot though. 125W TDP. But for my 4.8 clock I have to raise the voltage from 1.375v (stock) to ~1.525v. biggrin.gif
Do the math.

I bet my r9 290 tri-x is also rather hungry, especially when I overclock it from 1000 to 1275mhz.

Are you using 3930K too? With OCed R9 290 Tri-X does your HX750 still enough? I am just afraid 3930K OCed + R9 290 OCed would hit 600-700Watt so that 800Watt PSU is needed or HX750 just do fine? Btw I use HX750 too smile.gif

Na. In my earlier post I said I was/am using a fx-8320.

HX750 is a decent psu.
Best bet for you would to buy a cheap power meter. They should be for sale for like 10-20 usd? I don't know where you live but they are cheap here (Netherlands).

I should really get me one to btw.
I think I have enough power, but who knows.
My cpu will probably use around 150-200W, has a stock TDP of 125W. And gpu will use a lot when overclocked.

I don't know how accurate the sensors on my card are, but to do a rough measure I did a few minutes of Unigine Heaven.
Card clocked, through Trixx, at 1250 core, 1500 mem with a +200 vddc offset. If we look at the screenshot below we can see the peak Wattage of the card is ~312W (core and vram wattage combined). Lets say the cpu uses 200W to be on the high side. That makes a combined, peak load, of 512W (binary tongue.gif). I think the other ~250W are enough for the rest of the system (board, 2 HDD's, 1 SSD, Soundcard, Water pump, fans.... etc). I also have a 5 channel fan controller which has a max load of 20W per channel. So I don't have a lot of headroom after all.

Gotta love them gpu temps though. I remember hitting 80c on the vrm's with stock clocks. Water cooling really rocks. 37c on the hottest vrm with a massive 1.373v peak voltage.

Do you other things in your build that use a lot of power?
If not, you are most likely fine with the hx750. But, do test it yourself to be safe 100%. Buy that meter.

Oops I didn't read your earlier post about FX-8320 sorry biggrin.gif

In my country this PSU still abit high I guess but it is already discontinued and replaced by HX750i.

OK thanks for the information Chopper1591 thumb.gif
My 3930K OCed to 4.6GHz daily and I tested with CinebenchR15 also R11.5 it draws 162watt from HWinfo64 sensors. Stock is 130watt, my card is not to good for overclocking so I just set to 1050/1350MHz without adding volt, I guess my rig won't draw more than 500watt rolleyes.gif
Your card is great, hmm I am abit confuse should I sell my card and buy sapphire R9 290 tri-X like yours and OC it up to 1200MHz or a GTX 780 Lightning, they are used cards so I would get cheap prize biggrin.gif

Btw can you post 3DMark Firestrike default or 1080p benchmark for your card running at 1200MHz? and 1250MHz if you may biggrin.gif I wanna see the Graphic test score biggrin.gif just graphic test no need to test whole system or with CPU.
