[Verge] Microsoft reportedly working to block apps that re-enable the Windows 8 Start button - Page 22

My guess is that it is impossible to block every way that could bring back the Start Menu, even if it is just software that mimics it.

Too much effort on the wrong thing Microsoft.

I'm going to laugh when the final product releases with a Start menu in some form on the 'desktop' portion of Metro.

It tends to get max ~30 C ambient where I live, with only the rare spikes into near 40 C range.

Even so my computers do raise that slightly, so it's not necessarily pleasant in summer. frown.gif

getting sick of MS and windows8. Im not upgrading period F'em. MS is taking to much control on this OS
post #218 of 348
^ Oh, I take it you think its just terrible right?

Try using it a while. It's super easy. Probably more easy than having to extend several layers of menu times to get to some things like character map. rolleyes.gif

I like it. A lot. Very functional, even with a mouse. Takes maybe 5 minutes to get used to. 20 minutes configure/setup the tiles you want. So easy.

Exactly.

I bet most of the people hating on it have not even tried it out.

Been using it as my daily driver since the RC came out. Absolutely love it.

Quicker to navigate to things than it is in windows 7.

Well you could always move to another OS. You know Linux gives you all the control you want. But then again I doubt people really want control as much as they want convenience which is just fine. They just need to stop complaining if they're not going to do anything about it.

I honestly still can't see anything so drastic here. I mean....it's a freaking paint job kind of change and people are acting like they are getting downgraded from a McLaren F1 to a Pinto. Sure the GUI isn't exactly something mouse orientated but hell guys you can use the hot keys right?

If that was Apple there would already be a lawsuit going. Though, I never saw AOL look like that and I was using it in 1995.

PS: What happened to ReFS? Wasn't that supposed to be the end of a fragmenting FS for windows?
