So now I need some advice...I need something pretty low profile, and it looks like that recommended 1600 ram HERE will also be too high. There doesn't seem to be a lot of choices for DDR3 1600 with CL8 out there that are low profile. There is plenty of CL9 ram like THIS from Crucial, though.
So my question is...is it better to get DDR3 1600 CL9 or DDR3 1333 CL8 like THIS from G.Skill. Any help would be appreciated!!
edit: Corsair has some "low profile" DDR3 1600 CL9 HERE

You have a few options...
You can pull the heatsinks off the g.skill, but then they may not be as easy to sell when/if you decide to upgrade to 1600mhz ram.
What I'd do is get the recommended Crucial Ballistix 1600mhz cl8 and pull the heatsinks off.

Unfortunately that wont work, we have very little manual control over the timings and speed so the samsung ram would likely end up being pretty slow. Some ram can be flashed, but as of yet nobody has tried the samsung ram in a 4p. Plus the Crucial 1600mhz stuff is cheaper

Ok this is not exactly what I was expecting haha. I've never tried to take the heatsing off of any ram before. Hmm...CL8 vs CL9 will really make that much of a difference? Or is it more of a compatibility issue since no one has tried to use CL9? I suppose that I would only need to take the heatsinks off of the ones that are in the way and could leave the other ones, but those

Yeah I hear ya. The good news is that Newegg agreed to drop the restocking fees since the ram is "unopened" and unused
