As a frame of reference, this is what I am accustomed to playing PC games on for the last year or so.

But don't let my awesome car deter you from rooting for me.

Well at least you have a Lenovo laptop. Guess I'll root for ya.

Time to make that purchase - then join the AMD Bulldozer Club.

Build log would be interesting.

I have now modified my build to give me some added performance where I need it, prioritize as I see fit, and save me a decent chunk of change.

I present to you yet another build...

7336029912_39fa1a0af0_b.jpg

I live the idea of a subdued, stealthy, quiet case. I have some Noctua fans in my current Mini P180 that would work great as low noise fans, much as they did in that build.

I downgraded to a 7770 GHz to save me over $100, and I'm really not that hardcore anymore. I realize this isn't the place to come and say I don't require every last drop of performance out of my PC. I just want something that can handle 1080p games at a decent quality, and probably run at 1600x1200 most of the time. As long as the framerates are decent, I'm fine.

And that includes scaling back graphics on Skyrim in order to just enjoy the game, just like I simply enjoy it on PS3. It doesn't always have to be about your system being better, or your game looking better.

I took advice as far as the power supply goes, so I went with the Rosewill. I decided while it's a little more expensive, the Gigabyte Ultra Durable motherboard had Free Shipping and I have had good experiences with that particular line in the past.

As one last note, I have 4x2GB of Crucial 1600 RAM and a Western Digital 640GB Caviar Black from my i5 build, and I'll hold on to those for money's sake.

Thanks to everyone for your help in this process. It helped ease me back into the game, knowing there are people on both ends of the spectrum still on this site. thumb.gif

I almost want to see if I can break below $600 (at $630 now with the Mushkin SSD) without sacrificing too much.

If he cannot get free shipping with neweggs trial. I think Amazon has it for the same price. That is where I normally do all my shopping for cases.
