According to this : http://blogs.msdn.com/b/b8/archive/2012/05/31/delivering-the-windows-8-release-preview.aspx
Quote:
This is our final pre-release, and includes Windows 8, Internet Explorer 10, new Windows 8 apps for connecting to Hotmail, SkyDrive, and Messenger (and many more), and hundreds of new and updated apps in the Windows Store. Since our first preview release last September, millions of people now use the pre-release product on a daily basis and millions more have been taking it through its paces, totaling hundreds of millions of hours of testing. We genuinely appreciate the effort that so many have put into pre-release testing, and of course, we appreciate the feedback too. Direct feedback and feedback through usage contributed to hundreds of visible changes in the product and tens of thousands of under-the-hood changes.

LOL Not a chance in hell. I won't give Microsoft a dime for thier garbage they call Windows 8. In fact, I wouldn't use it even if they paid me $100 to use it for 6 months.
Makes me happy!

I'll probably put it on a separate partition to try it out. I really just want to see if the playing xbox games on windows app/program works lol.

There would be no sense in it, just stick to Windows 7 instead of using buggy software.

Its a more polished Consumer Preview with most of the applications implemented fully. Wont know until I install and try it, I will post back later after toying with it a bit.

I read that you can't upgrade from Consumer Preview to Release Preview.
So you need to reformat again.

What it looks like to me is a combination of the Xbox Live features of Windows Phone 7 and a remote control system for the Xbox 360. You'll be able to see what your friends are up to, customize your avatar and check your achievements, but not actually play games. But you will be able to remotely launch games on your Xbox 360. I'm not sure how practical that is, but as Engadget points out, you can also launch and control media apps such as Netflix. Check it out:

Basically Windows 8 tablet is an accessory device/remote control to an Xbox. You cannot actually play Xbox disc games on Windows 8.

If you are having problems with downloading windows 8, would you mind pinging the IP you are hitting? Just like this and share it with me?

C:\Users\foo>ping iso.esd.microsoft.com
