Thread Starter
What I've decided to do is actually neither 670 SLI nor 680 SLI. I found a good deal on another MSI GTX 580 Lightning XE, and am going to go with that until GK110. Thanks to everybody for the help, though.

Few day old thread but it gives me a chuckle smile.gif It's always like this, give the drivers some time and the gap will widen between the two cards.

If you get 2 GTX 670 FTW's which match 680 performance and overclock like gods, for $840, there is no difference at all but money and bragging rights.

Drivers won't widen the gap between the 670/680 at all. Improvements would help both.

I would recomend dual 680s is this spot just the same. If you're going to spend that much you may as well get the best.

I would go for the 670's.

Hopefully thats CPU bottle necked other wise thats fail SLI scaling. I was considering doing this as well, selling my 7970 and buying two 670's. It's really hard to justify the extra ~$200.

1080p/1200p are not resolutions requiring much power to max BF3, a single 670 will handle that.
Don't get SLi GTX 670's to play at a measly 1200p/1080p .

Thats above stock 680 score there. So yes 2 can run it easily at 120fps. I personally have never hit below 60fps so far with my card and where its at and avg around 73 and max is around 110(in buildings and what not) and i get like 200 looking at the sky lol. Is one can get around 75fps you only need to scale about 60% to get past 120fps. Keep in mind i have a 670FTW though..
