Looking for a quick response

Thread Starter
Trying to install windows 7 onto a different harddrive from a DVD. I was able to get into the windows 7 install screen and tried selecting my hd but I got the following error message

"Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition"

I googled and tried disconnecting all of my harddrives except for the one that I wanted windows 7 on.

Now I'm getting Boot MGR is missing error message when trying to boot to the DVD

I tried changing from ACHI to IDE

Looking for a quick response, please and thank you.

There could be a few problems: broken HDD or DVDROM or DVD, broken SATA cables, broken power cables, incompatibility between the HDD/DVD and the specific HDD controller on the board (if you use a Marvell-style non-native port).

Others are welcome to chip in, this is what I can come up with

i was having a problem installing and I found and is a way to go to the dos command promopt from windows 7 installation setup and type format: C or the drive you want. Then you reboot and it install fine.
