Hello,
I plan to build: HAF-XM case, 3570K cpu, single GTX 670 video, 2X4 Gb 2133 memory, single Samsung 830 256Gb SSD. I need an advice for the Z77 mobo.
Ok, now let's hit the basic question: I'm willing to put more $$$'s to get quality and reliabilty but why on earth would I pay more for a mobo that has features which I don't even need? More USB, SATA ports, SLI/Crossfire bandwith.. All what for? Does quality mean to pay more when I can get it with fewer features and lower price? One thing that captures my attention is that Asrock and Asus advertise USB 3.0 boost performance All in all, I'm targeting for a stable 4.5Ghz overclock.
Asrock Z77 Extreme4: hot spot on. great microcenter deal. Nice features with USB 3.0 boost. Even with the newegg price, I would have chosen this one if only its negative ratings have not bothered me. People say there (newegg) that they got boot errors with video cards.
ASUS P8Z77-V LK: Again, Asus is popular for its Maximus or Sabertooth but I don't want to pay for those when this one costs 150$ at Newegg. Can any overclocker here confirm the Asus quality of this choice? Are there no Asus overclockers that don't use Maximus or Sabertooth? This one advertises USB 3.0 boost performance also.
MSI Z77A-GD65: Here it is. MSI quality. Had it have only USB 3.0 boost like Asrock or Asus. Maybe I should forget this feature and pick MSI.
Gibabyte UD3H: I don't have much idea about this one and I'm lukewarm to this choice. It's not so much attractive as the above three choices. NO usb 3.0 boost.
Thanks a lot.
