Seems the VRM and RAM are .2mm lower than usual, wondering if any1 else noticed this or is it just me being unlucky?

That's not good, I was just about to drop the hammer and order this block, Would thicker thermal tape help? was the tape you used supplied with the block?

Well the pads that came with the block are 0.5mm thick and the pads that were being used with the GB heatsink seem around 0.7mm thick, I am gonna swap them around once I get the okay from EK support.
I have a feeling it will do the trick.

Just took it off to change pads and I think screwing it in seemed to of helped.

Also notice excellent contact with the gpu die.

if you get this block dont bother following the instructions to screw in the PCI plate to the PCB, use the short screw the other way around without the hexnut or the washer, the way it says in the instructions will not work.

EK support has been very good btw.

So the pads that came with the EK block did end up working and provide good contact on the ram on vrms?

I wont know until a few days when my system is up and running but the pads that come with the block are 0.5mm the pads that come with the card are 0.7mm and EK have 1mm pads available so one way or another its usable.

I just ran into this same problem tonight installing an FC680 Acetal block on my Gigabyte GTX670 card. The GPU itself makes very good contact, but the memory pads are making no contact at all and the VRM contact is very poor. I submitted a ticket with EK and am waiting to see what they suggest.

The Gigabyte card was great to disassemble though, only 6 screws to remove the heatsinks, much nicer to work on than the reference cooler.

pads go everywhere but the processor.

Mandroid try using the GB pads thats what I am doing if my card doesnt work, they are slightly thicker.

You need to screw all screws in then take it apart and check contact.

I thought that possibly you had used pad on processor because pic was not too detailed. Thicker pads may be only way to go with block removal after to check for even distribution of contact. I used MX4 on processor.cheers.gif
