Keyboard suggestion

Thread Starter
I have been slowly upgrading everything and I think I am down to the keyboard. I do a bit of typing, web design and a bunch of gaming. I play Bf3, diablo3, gw2 and some various SP games. Here are two things I am looking for.

1) I need a quiet keyboard! My setup is in the same room as my wife & I's bed, she hates the sound of keys.
2) I would like illumination for night usage while she is sleeping.

Thanks again for your suggestions peeps! P

It would be a nice keyboard to have but not sure I want to spend quite that much. Here in Korea the G19 will run me 230,000w (roughly $250). Thanks for the suggestions and please keep them coming!

Maybe this? I have the X6 and I like it. The X4 is newer and should be better.

I would suggest a Ducky Shine with either brown or black MX switches.

Aren't mechanical keyboards a bit noisy?

Yes. And very expensive, too.

If you can, you can get a cherry mx brown CM quickfire and add o-rings - the keyboard itself is pretty cheap for a mechanical and o-rings... are pieces of rubber so they probably will not be expensive either. You'll definitely love the feel, and putting o-rings on the keys will cut down the bottoming-out noise you make.

MX Reds are worth considering too. Linear switches and incredibly light so you won't need much force to actuate them at all. Rubber domes aren't much quieter if you're bottoming out, and you can't add O-rings as the poster above suggested. If you want a cheap mech board, Leopold is definitely a good place to start.

*if you want illuminated keys, the only choices are pretty much Ducky Shine's, Black Widow Ultimate, and another model who's name has escaped me.
